SUPRAMAX: S.CHINA TRIP TO INDIA HAS BEEN FIXED AT AROUND US$ 11000 - FEARNLEYS

The hot market seen the last weeks in the Pacific has softened as the Golden week holiday in China approaches and the October shipments have been covered.
S.China trip to India has been fixed at around US$ 11000 while N.China to WCI has been concluded around mid USD 9000 says Fearnleys in its weekly dry bulk report.
According to Fearnleys Indo/China coal rv's has been fixed at US$ 11000 with Thailand delivery and charterers are now talking around mid US$ 8000 for trip from N.China range to SE Asia.
The market in the Atlantic basin has had a quiet the start to the week. ECSA fh has been done around mid US$ 14000+460000 bb while USEC to Cont is paying around mid/high US$ 14000. Fh from USG to China is paying in the low/mid US$ 20000’s and same direction from the Cont around low/mid US$ 19000.
Panamax
Commenting on Panamax, Fearnleys says, it has been a slow and uneventful week. Lack of fresh cargoes and a growing tonnage list is putting pressure on rates in both hemispheres. As a consequence of the upcoming holidays in Asia next week, it seems that owners are more willing to take lower levels to get covered now compared to last week. In the Atlantic region the TA market has dropped to mid US$ 10000’s, while FH rates hover around mid US$ 18000’s.
The weekly drybulk report further says, activity in the pacific was limited and the South America cargoes lending little support to falling rates. Transpacific RV is now priced at around US$ 12000’s. The expectations for both hemispheres remain weak in the coming days. FFA’s, Oct is trading low US$ 11000’s, while Nov is now priced at mid US$ 11000’s on the P4TC index.
Capesize
According to Fearnleys, the Capesize market have seen a slight drop in freight rates this week. Brazil and South Africa market have been quiet and owners have then turned to the west Australia market. There have been good activity on the west Australia/China route, but with more owners looking at this route, the freight rates have been dropping and is presently close to the mid US$ 7 pmt.
The pacific TC rates was above the US$ 25,000 mark end of last week. But the TC rates for pac rounds have now dropped down to around US$ 20,000. Iron ore prices have taken a bit of a drop and some of the lower activity have been explained by this, however the steel prices remain strong and therefore it still looks positive for the market in time to come, Fearnleys concluded.
