KOREA MIDLAND POWER COMPANY LIMITED INVITES BIDS FOR TOTAL 4.77 MILLION TONS OF BITUMINOUS COAL FOR ITS BORYEONG POWER PLANT
 COALspot.com: South Korea state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued a new tender for 2,090,000 Metric Tons of Bituminous coal for its Boryeong Power Plant.
According to the tender, the annual quantity of coal to be purchased is 2,090,000 Metric Tons (MT). The coal shall be shipped at the port of loading in accordance with the following schedule:
Min 5,700 kcal/kg NAR coal - Minimum 250,000 mt for CY 2018 and Max 500,000 mt for CY 2019 on One Single Fixed Price Based on FOBT.
Min 5,200 – 5,500 kcal/kg NAR coal – Min 250,000 mt for CY 2018 and Min 250,000 mt for CY 2019 on One Single Fixed Price Based on FOBT and CFR.
Min 4,600 kcal/kg NAR coal – Min 210,000 mt for CY 2018 and Min 420,000 mt for CY 2019 on One Single Fixed Price Based on FOBT.
According to an inquiry floated by the company, the Contract Quantity and shipment delivery should be evenly spread basis for each Contract Year (CY) and the Quantity of the 1st CY is equivalent to 50 % of the awarded Annual Quantity.
For the awarded Contract Quantity of the 1st CY for HCV and LCV, Bidders can propose at least one (1) cargo for the shipment schedule of 3Q and/or 4Q respectively. For the awarded Contract Quantity of the 1st CY for HCV and MCV, Bidders can propose additional one (1) cargo from 40,000MT to 130,000MT for June 2017 with the same price in this Bid.
Russian and Chinese coals are not allowed to offer for Min 5,700 kcal/kg NAR coal and Min 4,600 kcal/kg NAR coal and Chinese coal is not allowed to bid for 5,200 – 5,500 kcal/kg NAR coal under this tender.
According to the tender terms, total moisture (as received basis) of coal for Min 5,700 Kcal/kg NAR should not more than 15% and volatile matter (adb) restricted in between min 22% to max 36 %. The total sulfur (arb) of 5700 NAR coal also limited to max 1% and Ash (adb) should not more than 17%.
For MCV coal, the total moisture (as received basis) for Min 5,200 to up to 5,500Kcal/kg NAR should not more than 23% and volatile matter (adb) restricted in between min 22% to max 45 %. The total sulfur (arb) of 5700 NAR coal also limited to max 1% and Ash (adb) should not more than 17%.
For LCV coal, total moisture (as received basis) of coal for Min 4600 Kcal/kg NAR should not more than 28% and volatile matter (adb) restricted in between min 22% to max 45 %. The total sulfur (arb) of 5700 NAR coal also limited to max 1% and Ash (adb) should not more than 17%.
Submissions of bids should not later than March 29, 2017, 14:00 hrs (Korean Standard Time).
The Bid documents can be submitted in person, by mail or courier not later than February 10, 2017 to Mr. Hyoung Nam Kim/ General Manager / Fuel 1 Team, Smartwork center Seoul Power Plant, Korea Midland Power Company Limited, 56, Tojeong-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
