S.KOREA'S KOMIPO ISSUES TENDER TO BUY 390K TONS OF BITUMINOUS COAL FOR JAN-FEB 2017
 COALspot.com: South Korea state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued a new tender for 390,000 Metric Tons of Bituminous Coal for its Boryeong Power Plant.
Bidders are requested to offer with quotation in a fixed price up to feasible amount of coal in lots of 125,000 MT X 2 of 5,700 kcal/kg NAR coal for Feb -March 2017delivery and 140,000 MT of 4,600 kcal/kg NAR coal for Feb - March 2017 (70,000×2) delivery on FOBT basis.
According to tender norms, the price should be on FOBT or CFR and KOMIPO reserves the right to award the contract on a FOB basis subject to its evaluation. Bidders are requested to offer with quotation in a fixed price up to feasible amount of coal in lots of 50,000MT(+/-10%),70,000MT(+/-10%), 90,000MT(+/-10%), 125,000MT(+/-10%).
KOMIPO also required 5700 kcal/kg coal should be supplied only from Colombia and no Russian and Chinese origin of 4,600 kcal/kg NAR coal are allowed to offer this tender.
The tender says, total moisture (as received basis) of coal for 5700 Kcal/kg NAR should not more than 15% and volatile matter (adb) restricted in between 22 – 36%. The total sulfur (arb) of 5700 NAR coal also limited to max 1% and Ash (adb) should not more than 17%.
For 4,600 NAR Low calorific value coal, the total moisture is restricted to Max. 28%, total sulfur (arb) max 1% and Ash (adb) max 17%. The volatile matter (adb) allowed between 22 – 45%.
Submissions of bids should not later than November 14, 2016, 14:00 hrs (Korean Standard Time).
The Bid documents can be submitted in person, by mail or courier not later than October 28, 2016 to Mr. Min-Soo Kim, General Manager / Fuel & Resource Team, Smartwork center Seoul Power Plant, Korea Midland Power Company Limited, 56, Tojeong-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
