THE FREIGHT RATES FROM INDONESIA TO INDIA IS EXPECTED TO BE SOFT NEXT WEEK
 COALspot.com: The BDI facing all time low's this week. The bulk dry index closed at 477 points on 18 December 2015.
The cape index was also declined 32.73 percent w-o-w to 524 points on 18 December 2015. While, the Panamax slightly up compared to last week closing. The Panamax index up 3.90 percent week over week to 426 points.
The Supramax index was almost at same levels from last week or just fell 0.44 percent closing at 449 points while the Handy size index was also declined 3.19 percent to 273 points on Friday, 18 December 2015.
Spot coal trades remains negligible and the Supramax charter rates from Indonesia to India were rating around US$ 6000 per day delivery Singapore, while the Panamax vessels were rating at around US$ 3000 per day delivery Shanghai.
According to Fearnleys, the Supras seem to be hitting bottom. There is even talk of cold layup as owners are not willing to continue to trade at present levels.
The freight rates are expected to be soft next week.
The Cape’s spot average charter rates were reported at around US$ 4073 per day and the Panamax at around US$ 3410 per day. The Supramax’s spot average rates were reported at US$ 4694 per day and the Handy size was reported at US$ 4012 per day.
The futures for three years (2016-2018) was at around US$ 10000 per day for Cape size ships. The Panamax and Supramax were reported at US$ 7000 per day and Handysize reported at US$ 6500 per day.
The S8 route for Supramax slightly up (0.48 pct w-o-w) closing at US$ 5169 per day compared to US$ 5144 per day on 11December 2015.
The Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be flat to soft next week.
The Brent crude oil prices was soft and down by 1.05 pct closing at US$ 36.88 per barrel (last week US$ 37.93 per barrel). The bunker prices were also soft and closed at US$ 165.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 18th Dec 2015).
