THE BDI DECLINED BY 3.09 PERCENT TO 563 POINTS ON 4 DECEMBER
 COALspot.com: The BDI declined by 3.09 percent to 563 points on 4 December 2015.
The Cape index was also declined by 10.01 percent to 890 points week over week. The Panamax index followed Cape trend this week and down 5.04 percent to 433 points. The Supramax and Handy size index were almost at same levels compared to last week or closed at 469 points and 286 points respectively.
The Supramax charter rates from Indonesia to India were rating around US$ 7000 per day delivery Indonesia while the Panamax vessels were rating around US$ 3500-4000 per day delivery Shanghai, almost half of rates of Supramax.
The next week freight rates are expected to be flat next week.
The average charter rates of Cape were reported at around US$ 6646 per day while the Panamax was reported a round US$ 3458 per day. The Supramax average charter rates was at US$ 4903 per day and Handysize was at US$ 4189 per day.
The three years (2016-2018) futures for reported at around US$ 10000 per day, US$ 3354 per day higher compared to Cape’s spot average rates. The Panamax’s three years future reported at around US$ 7000 per day, Supramax US$ 7000 per day and Handy size/US$ 6500 per day.
The S8 route for Supramax slightly increased or up by 5.50 percent week over week to US$ 5144 per day (last week US$ 4876 per day). The Indonesia to India freight rates are expected to be flat next week.
The Brent crude oil price was soft this week which was declined 4.15 percent to US$ 43.00 per barrel (last week US$ 44.86 per barrel). The bunker prices were also weak and closed at US$ 204.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 4th Dec 2015).
