THE FREIGHT MARKET SENTIMENT REMAINS WEAK
 This week’s freight market sentiment remains weak compared to last week.
The Baltic Dry Index (BDI), an economic indicator issued daily by the London-based Baltic Exchange closed at 721 points Friday (30 Oct), down by 53 points compared to previous Friday’s levels (23 Oct). The BDI was down 6.85 percent week over week.
The Cape index (BCI) Friday (30 Oct) was at 1229 points, a decrease of 232 (down 15.88%) points and The Panamax Index (BPI) at 675, a decrease of 8 points compared to previous Friday’s (23 Oct) levels.
The Supramax and handy size indices were down by about 3 pct to 629 points and 349 points respectively.
The Supramax charter rates from Indonesia to India were rating around US$ 6000 per day passing through Singapore. The Panamax vessels were rating around US$ 5000 per day delivery shanghai.
The next week Freight rates are expected to be flat to soft next week, said Vistaar shipping.
The Cape average charter rate was reported at US$ 7867 per day, while the Panamax average charter rates at US$ 5398 per day. The Supramax was at US$ 6575 per day and Handy size was at US$ 5087 per day.
According to Vistaar shipping, the futures for three years (2015-2018) was at reported higher compare to spot average rates this week. The Cape’s three years future rates reported at US$ 12000 per day and Panamax at US$ 8000 per day.

The S8 route for Supramax was slightly down or lost 3.18 per cent closed at US$ 5406 per day (last week US$ 5584 per day) on Friday. Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be flat to soft next week.
The Brent crude oil price was up by 3.07 pct to US$ 49.56 per barrel (last week US$ 48.08 per barrel) on 30 October 2015. The bunker prices also went up and closed at US$ 240.00 pmt (IFO 380 CST ex Singapore on 30th Oct 2015).
