KOMIPO SEEKS 1.28 MILLION T/Y COAL FOR DEC 2015 - Q2 2016
 COALspot.com: South Korean state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued an new tender for 1,280,000 Metric Tons (MT) of minimum 4,600 kcal/kg NAR coal and minimum 5700 kcal/kg NAR coal for November and December 2015 to Q2 2016 loading for Boryeong Power Plant.
The total 1 million Mt of 5700 kcal/kg NAR coal is required to be loaded in 8 shipments (Dec 2015 :125,000×2, Dec 2015- Q1 2016 :125,000×2 and Q1- Q2 2016 :125,000×4) on fixed price from Single mine on FOBT basis by 8 cape size ships.
The total 280,000 Mt of 4600 kcal/kg NAR coal is required to be loaded in 4 shipments (Dec 2015 :70,000×2 and Dec 2015- Q1 2016 :70,000×2) on fixed price from Single mine on FOBT basis by 4 Panamax ships. According to tender, Bidders are required to offer for 1st contract year (Dec 2015 - June 2016). The Price for the 2nd contract year (July 2016 - June 2017) and 3rd contract year (July 2017- June 2018) will be negotiated by mutual agreement.
KOMIPO requires the suppliers to offer coal with the quality such as total moisture (as received basis) max. 28%, volatile matter (air dried basis) min 22 and max 45%, fixed carbon (air dried basis) max 60%, total sulfur(as received basis) max 1.0% and Ash (air dried basis) max 17% for minimum 4,600 kcal/kg coal on NAR basis while requirement for minimum 5,700 kcal/kg coal on NAR basis, the total moisture (as received basis) should not more than 15%, volatile matter (air dried basis) min 22 and max 36%, fixed carbon (air dried basis) max 60%, total sulfur(as received basis) max 1.0% and Ash (air dried basis) max 17%.
According to tender terms, the Chinese and Russian coal are not allowed to participate this tender.
Submissions of bids should not later than 14:00 hrs on October 23, 2015 (Korean Standard Time).
