GANGAVARAM PORT IN INDIA DISCHARGES RECORD 112,599 MT OF STEAM COAL IN 24 HOURS
COALspot.com: Gangavaram Port, an all weather, multipurpose port with water depth up-to 21 meters, capable of handling fully laden Super Cape size vessels of up-to 200,000 DWT, created a historical milestone by discharging a record 112,599 metric tons of Steam Coal from M.V. Cape Jupiter a cape size vessel within in 24 hours.
According to a note that COALspot.com received from Gangavaram Port says, this record discharge rate only reaffirms the superior port infrastructure and operational efficiency at Gangavaram Port. According to ports website, the Port is located in Visakhapatnam, the industrial nerve center of Andhra Pradesh, South India.
While commending the team on this performance, Mr. Raj Dandu, Executive Director, Gangavaram Port Limited, says “ with the commissioning of the second and new mechanized coal handling terminal and 3 other general cargo berths, the port infrastructure at the Gangavaram Port has become un-paralleled with a capacity of about 64MMTPA”.
