KOMIPO IS SEEKING TOTAL 2.34 MMT OF HCV AND LCV COAL FOR 2015 - 2017
 COALspot.com: South Korean state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued an new tender to buy total 2.34 million Metric Tons (MT) of HCV and LCV coal for two years and six months for Boryeong Power Plant.
The total 780,000 Mt of HCV (500K) and LCV (280K) coal should be shipped on FOBT, within July – December 2015 by four cape size vessels and four panamax vessels.
2016 and 2017 coal supplies should be made from January to December each year. The shipments size remain same as per 2015 deliveries. The bidders are requested to guarantee that each shipment of coal to be supplied entirely from a single mine and to offer with quotation in a single fixed price for 2015 supplies. " The Price for the 2 contract year and 3 contract year will be negotiated by mutual agreement," the tender terms says.
KOMIPO requires to suppliers to offer coal with the quality such as Total Moisture (As received basis) Max. 28%, Volatile Matter (Air dried basis) Min 22 Max 36%, Fixed Carbon (Air dried basis) Max 60%, Total Sulfur(As received basis) Max 1.0% and Ash (Air dried basis) Max 17% for minimum 4600 kcal/kg coal on NAR basis.
For 5700 kcal/kg on NAR basis, the Total Moisture (As received basis) should be Max. 15%, Volatile Matter (Air dried basis) Min 22 Max 45%, Fixed Carbon (Air dried basis) Max 60%, Total Sulfur(As received basis) Max 1.0% and Ash (Air dried basis) Max 17%
According to the tender document, bidders are requested to offer a single fixed price for 125,000 Mt × 4 and 70,000 mt X 4 every year stating from July 2015 to December 2017.
Submissions of bids are not later than 11:00hrs on May 26, 2015 (Korean Standard Time).
The Bid documents can be submitted in person, by mail or courier to the address below not later than the deadline.
