INDONESIA - INDIA FREIGHTS RATES EXPECTED TO FLAT TO SOFT NEXT WEEK
 COALspot.com: The BDI was up by 10.45% and closed at 634 points week on week, while the Cape index saws big jump or up almost 55% for the same period and closed at 954 points. The Panamax index closed lower compared to last week’s closing. The panama index was down 4.04% to 570 points week ending 15 May 2015. The Supramax index was almost flat or up 1.62% and closed at 628 points while the handy size index was down by 0.57% to 327 points.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were steady with supramax charter rates delivery Singapore were around $7,500 per day for a trip via Indonesia to India.
In the meantime, the Panamax charter rates were rating around $ 5,000 delivery mid china for a trip via Indonesia to India.
Next week freight rates are expected to be steady.
The average charter rates for Cape reported at $ 5771 per day, for Panamax at $ 4630 per day, Supramax at $ 6566 per day and Handy size at $ 4832 per day.
The futures for three years (2015-2017) were reported at around $ 12000 per day for cape size ships, $ 8500 per day for Panamax, $ 8500 per day for Supramax and $ 7500 per day for Handysize.
The S8 route for supramax was soft this week compared to last week closing or fell 1.53%. Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be flat to soft next week.
The Brent crude oil prices was firm and was up by 1.80 % closing at $ 66.59 per barrel (last week $ 65.54 per barrel). The bunker prices was firm and closed at $ 375.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 15th May 2015).
