INDONESIA TO INDIA FREIGHT RATE IS EXPECTED TO BE SOFT
 COALspot.com: The freight market was steady, however the BDI was declined slightly week over week.
BDI dropped 1.36 pct and closed at 580 points. The cape index and panamax indices were slightly up by 2 pct closing at 466 and 600 points respectively. The supramax and handy size index was down about 3 pct closing at 613 points and 373 points respectively.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were steady with Supramax charter rates delivery Singapore was around $ 8000-8500 per day for a trip via Indonesia to India.
Panamax charter rates were steady and ships delivery Indonesia was reported fixed around $ 4500 per day for trip to India. Freight rates are expected to be steady next week.
The average charter rates were reported at around $ 3099 per day for Cape, $ 4788 per day for Panamax, $ 6409 per day for Supramax and $ 5554 per day for Handysize.
While, the futures for three years (2015-2017) was reported at around $ 14000 per day for Cape, $ 9000 per day for Panamax, $ 9000 per day for Supramax and $ 8000 per day for Handysize.
The S8 route for supramax softened and was declined 4.13 pct closing at $ 6,450 per day (last week $ 6,728 per day). Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be soft.
The Brent crude oil prices was up by 2.95 pct closing at $ 56.57 per barrel (last week $ 54.95 per barrel). The bunker prices were steady and closed at 322.00 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 10th April 2015).
