FREIGHT RATES UNDER PRESSURE WEEK OVER WEEK
 COALspot.com: The Indices fell on all segments and the market seemed to soften this week.
The BDI was almost lost 1.34% week over week and closed at 588 points while the cape index was marginally down or fell 0.44% closing at 454 points.
The Panamax index was fell 1.34% close at 589 points while the supramax index was down 1.7% to 636 points. The Handy size index was also 1.02%, closing at 386 points.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were slightly soft with supramax charter rate delivery Singapore was around US$ 8000-8500 per day for a trip via Indonesia to India.
While, Panamax charter rates were steady and ships delivery Indonesia was reported fixed at around US$ 5,500 per day for a trip to India. According to current market trend, next week, the freight rates are expected to be soft for supramax vessels as well as Panamax vessels.
The average charter rates for Cape size vessels were reported at around US$ 3,050 per day, for Panamax at around US$ 4,708 per day, for Supramax at around US$ 6,654 per day and for Handy size at around US$ 5,740 per day.
However, the futures for three years (2015-2017) were reported at around US$ 14,000 per day Cape size vessels, US$ 9,000 per day for Panamax size vessels, US$ 9,000 per day for Supramax and US$ 8,000 per day for Handy size vessels.
The route S8 route for Supramax softened slightly and or fell 0.82% and closed at US$ 6,728 per day (last week it was at US$ 6784 per day). Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be flat.
The Brent crude oil prices were slightly down by up by 0.67 pct closing at US$ 54.95 per barrel (last week US$ 55.32 per barrel). The bunker prices were soft and closed at 320.00 Pmt (IFO 380 CST ex Singapore on 2nd April 2015).
