BORYEONG POWER OF KOMIPO TO BUY TOTALED 695K MT OF HIGH AND LCV COAL
 COALspot.com - Korea Midland Power Co. Ltd. (KOMIPO) is inviting bids from coal producers, marketing companies, or traders to supply of 500000 Metric tons of minimum 5700 kcal/kg coal of the NAR basis for its Boryeong Power.
According to tender terms, KOMIPO invited price for four 125000 MT shipments under the tender KOMIPO-Bid Notice-2015-LT01.All the shipments are required to be supplied within six months, starting from June 2015 (1 st CY ), Jan 2016~Dec 2016 (2nd CY) and Jan 2017~Dec 2017 (3rd CY).
The Price shall be one single fixed price based on FOBT only and KOMIPO reserves the right to award the contract on a FOB basis subject to its evaluation, said tender terms. Bidders are required to offer a price for 1st contract year (June 2015~Dec 2015). The Price for the 2nd and 3rd contract year will be negotiated by mutual agreement.
The Bidders are also requested to guarantee, each shipment of coal to be supplied shall be entirely supplied from a single mine. Coal from either China or Russian are not allowed to participate this tender. Supply of coal for any shipment from more than 1 (one) mine is not allowed.
Quality Specifications (based on ASTM standards, for 5700 kcal/kg HCV coal)
Total Moisture (TM) 15 % max, Volatile Matter (adb) 22-36% max, Ash (adb) 17% max, Total Sulfur (arb) 1% max, Net Calorific Value Min 5700 kcal/kg.
KOMIPO is also looking for another 125,000 Metric Tons of 5,700 kcal/kg NAR coal and 70000 Mt of 4,600 kcal/kg AR coal for June 2015 delivery through another tender KOMIPO-Bid Notice-2015-SP03.
The terms of tender are almost similar to its other tenders. However, there is no restriction to supply of Chinese or Russian coal to under tender KOMIPO-Bid Notice-2015-SP03.
Quality Specifications (based on ASTM standards, for 4600 kcal/kg LCV coal)
Total Moisture (TM) 28 % max, Volatile Matter (adb) 22-45% max, Ash (adb) 17% max, Total Sulfur (arb) 1% max, Net Calorific Value Min 4600 kcal/kg.
The bid documents for both tenders are requested to be submitted not later than 11:00hrs on April 14, 2015 (Korean Standard Time)
