INDO - INDIA: SUPRAMAX & PANAMAX FREIGHT MARKET STEADY
 COALspot.com: The freight market was almost stable as all segments slightly up except Panamax sector.
The BDI was up by just 0.85% week over week and closing at 596 points while the cape index was up 5.44% closing at 456 points. However the Panamax index was declined 3.24% and closed at 597 points. The supramax and Handy size index was also increased 1.89% & 1.56%, closed at 647 points and 390 points for the same period respectively.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were firm this week. The supramax charter rates, delivery Singapore was reported at around US$ 8500 per day for a trip via Indonesia to India.
Panamax charter rates were steady and ships delivery Indonesia was reported fixed delivery China at around US$ 6000 per day for a trip to India. Freight rates expected to be continued steady on supramax vessels and panamax vessels.
The average charter rates were reported for Cape at US$ 3,103 per day, Panamax at US$ 4,778 per day , Supramax at US$ 6,768 per day and Handysize at US$ 5,780 per day.
The futures for three years (2015-2017) were at around US$ 14000 per day for cape, US$ 9000 per day for Panamax, US$ 9000 per day for Supramax and US$ 8000 per day Handysize.
The route S8 route for supramax continued to be firm and was up by 4.46% closing at US$ 6784 per day (last week US$ 6494 per day). Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected still to be steady to firm next week.
The Brent crude oil prices was slightly up by 1.97% closing at US$ 56.41per barrel (last week US$ 55.32 per barrel). The bunker prices were soft and closed at 328.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 27th March 2015).
