FREIGHT RATES FROM INDONESIA TO INDIA IS TRENDING UP
 COALspot.com: The freight market continued to see gains this week and all the indices were rose except for Cape index. The BDI was increased 4.62 past weeks over the week the index was closed at 565 points on 6 March 2015.
The cape index fell 9.79 per cents to 470 points. The Panamax was up 8.70 pct on the week and closed at 587 points while the Supramax index was up 9.90 pct. The handy size seen slightly higher or increased 14.28 pct to 352 points.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were slightly up as Supramax charter rate delivery Singapore was around US$ 7,000 per day for a trip via Indonesia to India. Meanwhile, Panamax charter rates were steady and ships delivery Indonesia was reported fixed at around US$ 6000 per day for trip a to India. Freight rates expected to be steady/firm on supramax vessels as well as Panamax vessels.
According to market trend, the average charter rates were reported at US$ 3,690 per day for a cape, US$ 4,706 per day for Panamax, US$ 5,916 per day for Supramax and US$ 5,107 per day for Handy size.
The futures for three years (2015-2017) was reported at around US$ 14,000 per day for a cape, US$ 9,000 per day Panamax, US$ 9,000 per day Supramax and US$ 7500 per day for Handysize.
The rate S8 route for supramax rose 18.88 pct a bigger increase in recent days and closed at US$ 5357 per day (last week US$ 4506 per day). Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be firm next week.
The Brent crude oil price was down by 4.55 pct closing at US$ 59.73 per barrel (last week US$ 62.58 per barrel). The bunker prices were steadily closing at 345.00 points (IFO 380 CST ex Singapore on 6th March 2015).
