INDONESIA-TO-INDIA COAL FREIGHT RATES REMAIN WEAK NEXT WEEK
 COALspot.com: The BDI continued its fall reached lowest levels since 1986 this week.
The BDI declined 15.55 pct to 608 points on Friday 30, January 2015. The cape index also declined 23.45 pct and BCI closed at 679 points.
Panamax index fell 25.84 pct and closed at 508 points. The supramax index and handy size indices were lost 10 pct and closed at 585 points and 340 points respectively week on week.
In the Far East/SE Asia, the freight rates were soft and the supramax charter rates delivery Singapore were being rated around US$ 6,000-6,500 per day for trip to India. Panamax charter rates were soft and ships were reported fixed at around US$ 4,000 per day for trip to India delivery Shanghai area. Freight rates are expected to be soft on supramax vessels and panamax vessels coming days.
The average charter rate was at Cape reported at around /US$ 5,700 per day , Panamax/US$ 4,060 per day , Supramax/US$ 6,119 per day and Handy size/US$ 5,141 per day.
The futures for three years (2015-2017) was at around Cape/US$ 14,000 per day, Panamax/US$ 9,000 per day, Supramax/US$ 9,000 per day , Handysize/US$ 7,500 per day.
The route S8 route for supramax was down by 10.67 pct week on week closing at US$ 6,119 per day (last week US$ 6,850 per day). Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be weak next week.
The Brent crude oil prices was up by 8.60 pct closing at US$ 52.99 per barrel (last week US$ 48.79 per barrel). The bunker prices was almost at same levels closing at 285.00 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 30th Jan 2015).
