FREIGHT RATES ARE EXPECTED TO BE SOFT NEXT WEEK
 COALspot.com: The Baltic Dry Index (BDI), a measure of commodity-shipping costs, fell 12.12 pct to 863 points week ending 12 December 2014.
The cape index was also lost 40.48 pct week over week and closed at 763 points. The panamax index lost 8.00 pct and closed at1001 points and the Supramax index slightly fell compared to last week closing. The Supramax index lost 2.16 pct and handy size index down 1.20 pct week on week.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were slightly soft and the supramax charter rates delivery Singapore were being rated around $ 12,000-12,500 per day for trip to India. Panamax charter were firm this week and ships were reported fixed delivery Shanghai area around $7,000 per day for trip to India.
Freight rates are expected to be soft next week.
The average charter rates for Cape were reported at $ 4,902 per day, Panamax at $ 7,976 per day , Supramax at $ 9,937 per day and Handy size at $ 7223 per day.
The futures for three years (2015-2017) were at around /$ 14000 per day for Cape, $ 9500 per day for Panamax, /$ 10000 per day for Supramax and $ 8500 per day for Handy size ships.
The route S8 route for Supramax was almost steady and increased 0.16 pct week on week. Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be flat to soft next week.
The Brent crude oil prices fell sharply or decreased10.45 pct week on week and closed at $ 61.85 per barrel (last week $ 69.07 per barrel). The bunker prices also softened and closed at $ 359.00 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 12th Dec 2014).
