U.S. YEAR-TO-DATE COAL PRODUCTION REACHED AROUND 905 MMST - EIA
 COALspot.com – United States the world's one of the largest coal producers, produced approximately 19 million short tons (mmst) of coal in a week (For the week ended November 29, 2014), EIA said in its latest report.
According to EIA’s latest report, this production estimate is 1.9% higher than last week's estimate and 3.5% higher than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2013.
East of the Mississippi River produced totaled 7.4 mmst (down 6.32% week on week) and west of the Mississippi River produced totaled 11.6 mmst (up 8.41% week on week), according to weekly figures released by the US Energy Information Agency (EIA).
U.S. year-to-date coal production totaled 905.2 mmst, 0.3% higher than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2013, EIA’s December 4, report says.
October 2014 Coal Production
US produced approximately 85.6 million short tons of coal in October 2014. This production estimate is 5.6% higher than the estimate for the same month in 2013 or 2.88% higher month over month.
Coal production in east of the Mississippi River totalled 35.3 mmst (down 1.41% month on month) and in west of the Mississippi River totalled 48.0 mmst (up 5.83 per cent month on month) in October 2014, EIA said in its November report.
