SUPRAMAX COAL FREIGHT RATES FROM INDONESIA TO INDIA : FIRM
 COALspot.com: The BDI fell 171 points and closed at 1153 points on Friday 28 November 2014. The Cape index also lost 887 points and closed at 2151 points week on week. However, the Panamax index was up 65 points and closed at 1120 points and Supramax up 44 points and closed at 986 points week ended 28 November.
The Handysize index was also increased by 29 points and closed at 491 points.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were quite firm and the supramax charter rates delivery Singapore were being rated around US$ 12,000-12,500 per day for trip to India.
The Panamax charter rate were also steady this past week and ships were reported fixed (delivery Shanghai area) at around US$ 11,000 per day for trip to India. Freight rates are expected to be steady/firm next week.
The average charter rate for Cape was reported at around US$ 14,564 per day on 28 November 2014. The Panamax average charter rate was at around US$ 8,943 per day and Supramax was at U$$ 10,310 per day. The Handysize average charter rates were reported at around US$ 7,124 per day.
The futures for three years (2015-2017) was at around US$ 15,000 per day for Cape, US$ 10,000 per day for Panamax, US$ 10,000 per day for Supramax and US$ 8,500 per day for Handysize.
The S8 route for supramax continued to steady and up 8.73 pct and closed at US$ 9478 per day (last week US$ 8717 per day) on 28 November 2014. Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be steady next week.
The Brent crude oil prices was down by 12.70 pct closing at US$ 70.15 per barrel (last week US$ 80.36 per barrel). The bunker prices softened and closed at US$ 444.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 28th Nov 2014).
