THE BDI LOST 12.59% WEEK ON WEEK; THE BCI LOST 19.95%
 COALspot.com: The BDI fell 12.59 percent to 1256 point week on week on Friday 14 November. All the segments were also most down this week. The cape index was fell 19.94 pct and closed 2931 points.
The Panamax index was also followed cape and fell 7.18 percent week on week. Panamax index was closed at 1098 points on 14 November.
The supramax and Handy size indices were also slightly lost this week and closed at 875 points ( down by 0.68 pct) and 450 points (down by 0.88 pct) respectively.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were steady and the Supramax charter rates, delivery Singapore was reported fixed at around US$ 11,000 per day for trip to India. Panamax charter rates also quite firm this week and ships were fixed at around US$ 12,000 per day delivery Shanghai area to India.
Freight rates are still expected to be firm next week.
The reported average charter rates were at US$ 20,660 per day for cape, US$ 8,718 per day for Panamax, US$ 9,149 per day for Supramax and US$ 6,544 per day for Handymax.
The futures for three years (2015-2017) was at around US$ 16,000 per day for Cape, around US$ 4,660 lesser than this current average charter hire. The Panamax three years futures were reported at around US$ 10,000 per day, Supramax at US$ 10,000 per day and Handy size/US$ 8,500 per day.
The route S8 route for Supramax slightly firm or just up 0.96 pct and closed at US$ 7,558 per day (last week US$ 7486 per day). Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be firm next week.
The Brent crude oil prices was softened further and was down by 6.55 pct closing at US$ 77.92 per barrel (last week US$ 83.39 per barrel). The bunker prices closed at US$ 468.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 14th Nov 2014).
