INDONESIA TO INDIA FREIGHT RATES ARE EXPECTED TO BE WEAK - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com: This week all the segments softened. The BDI down 7.13 pct week on week and closed below 1000 points at 963 points.
The Cape index also continued to soften and fell 12.17 pct within a week and closed at 1544 points while the panamax index lost 2.48 pct for the same period and closed at 865 points. The Supramax index also lost 5.64 pct, closed at 970 points and the handy size index was down by 2.64 pct, closed at 516 points.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were soft and the reported supramax charter rates were showing at around US$ 11,000 -11,500 per day delivery Singapore. Panamax charter were also soft this week. Freight rates are expected to be soft next week.
The average charter rate was at US$ 9102 per day for Cape size, US$ 6924 per day for Panamax, US$ 10147 per day for Supramax and US$ 7547 per day for Handy size.
The futures for three years (2015-2017) was reported at around US$ 16500 per day for cape, US$ 9500 per day for Panamax, US$ 10500 per day for Supramax and US$ 9000 per day for Handy size.
The route S8 route for supramax was soft or lost 3.24 pct to US$ 7,878 per day (last week US$ 8,142 per day). Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be weak next week.
The Brent crude oil prices was soft and was down by 2.27 pct closing at US$ 90.21 per barrel (last week US$ 92.31 per barrel). The bunker prices softened closing at US$ 513.00 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 10th Oct 2014).
