CFR SOUTH CHINA COAL SWAP GAINED DAY ON DAY AND WEEK ON WEEK
COALspot.com: API 8 CFR South China Coal swap for delivery in October 2014 decreased US$ 2.30 (-3.36%) month over month, but increased day on day and week on week.
CFR South China Coal swap
South China Coal swaps for October'14 delivery gained around US$ 0.70 week on week on 12 September and closed at US$ 66.15 a ton. The swap for January 2015 delivery also gained on day, week over week, but lost month on month according to SGX AsiaClear OTC coal swap's reports released week ended 12 September 2014.
January 2015 delivery swap closed at US$ 66.70 a ton on 12 September 2014, a US$ 2.75 (-3.96%) lower from a month. Jan'15 swap gained US$ 0.40 higher from week over week closing of US$ 66.70 per mt.
API 8 CFR South China coal swap for October 2015 delivery has also lost US$ 0.40 (-0.58%) and US$ 2.45 (-3.42%) on week and month respectively. However, the October 2015 delivery gained US$ 0.20 day on day. January 2015 delivery swap closed at US$ 66.70 pmt on 12 September 2014, a $ 0.55 (+0.83%) higher compared to October 2014 closing price of US$ 66.15 for the same period.
API 8 CFR South China Coal swap for average October 2015 delivery closed US$ 3.00 (+4.54%) higher compared to average October 2014 delivery price of US$ 66.15 on 12 September 2014.
According to this past week's swaps trend, January 2015 coal swaps closed narrowly higher compared to October 2014 closing. However October 2015 closing swap were quite higher or higher by US$ 3.00 per MT compared to October 2014 closing prices, giving hope the market is trying to improve.
Indonesia, as the largest coal exporter and China is a net coal importer is trying to introduce number of regulations to cut coal exports and imports respectively. If all the new regulations introduced and implemented on time, then Indonesian low calorific value coal producers will face a hard time to plan their production.
API 8 CFR South China Coal for October 2014 delivery swap was achieved a highest price (US$ 66.15) on 12 September 2014, and swap experienced a lowest closing (US$ 65.75) on 10 September 2014.
API 8 CFR South China Coal swaps for delivery October 2014 and January & October 2015 were lost month on month.
Richards Bay Thermal Coal swap
SGX API 4 FOB Richards Bay Thermal Coal swap for delivery October 2014 gained US$ 0.55 week over week and closed at US$ 69.00 on 12 September 2014. But, January as well as October 2015 delivery swaps failed to perform positive and lost US$ 0.05 and US$ 0.70 respectively week on week.
FOB Richards Bay Thermal Coal swap for October 2014, Jan and Oct 2015 deliveries lost US$ 4.30 (-5.87%), US$ 3.15 (4.22%) and US$ 2.75 (3.58%) month over month on 12 September.
Newcastle Thermal Coal swap
SGX API 5 FOB Newcastle Thermal Coal swaps October 2014 delivery gained US$ 0.45 per MT week on week on 12 September 2014, closed at US$ 54.65 per Mt. October 2015 delivery swaps closed at US$ 57.80, a $ 3.15 higher than October 2014 closing price. October 2014, January as well as October 2015 delivery swaps performed positive week on week.
FOB Newcastle Thermal Coal swaps for October 2014, Jan and Oct 2015 deliveries lost US$ 2.80 (-4.87%), US$ 3.50 (5.93%) and US$ 3.10 (5.09%) month over month on 12 September.
