API 8 CFR SOUTH CHINA COAL SWAP FOR DELIVERY JAN'15 CLOSED AT US$ 66.30 PMT W/E 5 SEPTEMBER 2014; LOST 5.15% M-O-M
COALspot.com: API 8 CFR South China Coal swap for delivery in October 2014 decreased US$ 0.15 (-0.23%) day on day and US$ 2.05 (-3.04%) week on week.
CFR South China Coal swap
South China Coal swaps for October'14 delivery lost around US$ 3.10 month over month on 5 September and closed at US$ 65.45 a ton. The swap for January 2015 delivery also lost on day, week over week and month on month according to SGX AsiaClear OTC coal swap's reports released week ended 5 September 2014.
January 2015 delivery swap closed at US$ 66.30 a ton on 5 September 2014, a US$ 3.60 (-5.15%) lower from a month and US$ 2.00 lower from week over week closing of US$ 68.30 per mt.
API 8 CFR South China coal swap for October 2015 delivery has also lost US$ 1.10 (-1.56%) and US$ 2.70 (-3.74%) on week and month respectively. However, the October 2015 delivery gained US$ 0.75 day on day. January 2015 delivery swap closed at US$ 66.30 pmt on 5 September 2014, a $ 0.85 (+1.30%) higher compared to October 2014 closing price of US$ 65.45 for the same period.
API 8 CFR South China Coal swap for average October 2015 delivery closed US$ 4.10 (+6.26%) higher compared to average October 2014 delivery price of US$ 65.45 on 5 September 2014. According to this past week's swaps trend, January 2015 coal swaps closed narrowly higher compared to October 2014 closing. However October 2015 closing swap were quite higher or higher by US$ 4.10 per MT compared to October 2014 closing prices, giving hope the market is trying to improve in spite of low demand and high output.
Indonesia is as the largest coal exporter and China is a net coal importer is trying to introduce number of regulations to cut coal exports and imports respectively.
API 8 CFR South China Coal for October 2014 delivery swap was achieved a highest price (US$ 67.55) on 1 September 2014, and swap experienced a lowest closing (US$ 65.45) on 5 September 2014.
API 8 CFR South China Coal swaps for delivery October 2014 and January & October 2015 were lost week on week and month on month.
Richards Bay Thermal Coal swap
SGX API 4 FOB Richards Bay Thermal Coal swap for delivery October 2014 lost US$ 1.90 week over week and closed at US$ 68.45 on 5 September 2014. January as well as October 2015 delivery swaps also failed to perform positive lost US$ 1.45 and US$ 1.15 respectively week on week.
Newcastle Thermal Coal swap
SGX API 5 FOB Newcastle Thermal Coal swaps October 2014 delivery lost US$ 2.35 per MT week on week on 5 September 2014, closed at US$ 54.20 per Mt. October 2015 delivery swaps closed at US$ 57.30, a $ 3.10 higher than October 2014 closing price. January as well as October 2015 delivery swaps also failed to perform positive lost US$ 2.65 and US$ 2.70 respectively, week on week.
