INDO - INDIA FREIGHT RATES CONTINUE TO WEAK
 COALspot.com: The latest dry Index shows that average all-in spot freight declined, the Panamax and Supramax slipping by 9.11 percent and 4% respectively. All most all the sectors were under pressure this week as all indices declined compared to last week closing. The BDI was lost 8.07 percent week on week and closed at 831 points.
The Panamax index remains under pressure this week like past weeks and it was lost 9.11 percent week on week. Panamax index was closed at 419 points and Supramax down by about 4 pct closing at 678 points.
The Far East/SE Asia Supramax charter rates were slightly firm as demand for shipments to China slightly up and the freight rates are expected to be steady/firm next week. Panamax freights rates were quite low or charter rates were reported around US$ 3,500-4,000 per day delivery China. Freight rates are still expected to be flat to soft next week.
The average charter rates were reported at around US$ 12,741 for capes, US$ 3,362 per day for panamax vessels. Supramax vessels were reported at around US$ 7,093 per day and Handy size vessels at around US$ 6,276 per day.
However, three years futures for Cape size vessels were reported at around US$ 20,000 per day. Panamax vessels were reported at US$ 10,500 per day or around three times higher than the currents spot charter hire rates. Handy size three years future are slightly higher than the current spot levels. Handy sizes were reported at US$ 10,000 per day for three years future fixings (2014 - 2016).
The route S8 route slightly strong or up by 5.26 pct week on week closing at US$ 6,883 per day (last week US$ 6539 per day). Freight rates are from Indonesia to India is still expected to be soft next week.
The Brent crude oil prices slightly softened and was down by 1.31 pct closing at 113.30 per barrel (last week US$ 114.81 per barrel). The bunker prices also closed lower at US$ 614.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 27th June 2014).
