KOMIPO INVITES BIDS FOR LOW VOLATILE BITUMINOUS COAL
 COALspot.com : Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd. has invited bids through International open bidding for 90,000 Metric Tons (MT) of low volatile bituminous coal with calorific value maximum 6000 kcal/kg on NAR basis for its Seocheon Power Plant.
According to invitation to bid terms, bidders can offer one single fixed price for up to a total tendering amount in lots of 90,000MT(+/-10%) on FOB Port of Loading basis.
The total moisture (TM) of coal should not more than 15% on as received basis & Ash content should not more than 25% on air dry basis for maximum 6000 kcal/kg on NAR basis. The total sulphur of coal on as received basis should not exceeds 1% and Ash Fusion Temperature (IDT) (Reducing Atmosphere) should not lesser than 1300° C.
Coal producers or marketing companies or traders those who shall meet the whole requirement of ITB including but not limited to, coal quality specification, shipping schedule, quality and whose track record of supply to 5 (five) generation subsidiaries of KEPCO, Tai-power FPG and Japanese Power Utilities including J-Power in total for the past 3 years do not amount to 150,000MT can offer only one cargo based on FOBT are qualified to participate in this tender.
Bidders who have no track record of supply to 5 (five) generation subsidiaries of KEPCO, Tai-power, FPG and Japanese Power Utilities including J-Power for the past 3 years (“New Bidder”) can’t participate in this bid.
According to tender terms, KOMIPO will determine the payment from either Banker‘s Usance Letter of Credit (L/C) or Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) payment basis and notify it to seller. In case a Bidder has specific preference or requirement regarding payment method, required to declare such fact on its Bidding Proposal for KOMIPO’s acceptance.
The terms of tender is saying that, the Bidder’s bid proposal shall be bound as a firm offer and valid for a period of at least five (5) calendar days after the bid closing date. KOMIPO may request the bidder to extend the validity period of the bid proposal, if necessary.
The Bid documents to require submitting on or before 11:00hrs on April 29, 2014 (Korean Standard Time).
