TAIPOWER TO PROCURE 750K MT OF 5500 GAR BITUMINOUS COAL FOR MAY - AUGUST 2014
 COALspot.com: Taiwan Power Company intends to procure 750,000 metric tons of bituminous coal with calorific value not lesser than 5,500 kcal/kg on as received basis for Taipower thermal power plant through open tender. This is the second invitation of bids issued by company within this week. Taipower has issued two invitation of bids within this week to procure totaled around 1.575 million tons of 5000 and 5500 gar coal starting from March 2014 until August 2014.
According to the Invitation to Bid No. TPC10303-LK, the bidders can obtain the bidding document from 20 November to December 3, 2013 (Taipei time). Bidders are also required to submit the bids on or before 3 December 2013 at 17:00 hrs (Taipei Time).
According to bid notice, the Taiwan Power Company will open the received Technical & Commercial Proposal on 4 December, 2013 at 09:30 hrs (Taipei Time).
750,000 tons of sub-bituminous coal required to deliver by 10 Panamax vessels (75,000 +/- 10%) during May 2014 through August 2014.
As per Invitation to Bid, the Calorific Value of coal should not lesser than 5,500 kcal/kg on as received basis, total moisture (arb) 22% max, Ash Content (adb) 8% max and total Sulphur (adb) should not more than 1%.
The firms including foreign coal mine owners, foreign coal producers, foreign and local agents and trading companies are allowed to bid the tender and Taipower is also allowing bidders to offer single shipment or multiple shipments against the Invitation to Bid No. TPC10303-LK.
