KOMIPO TO BUY 270K MT OF SUB-BITUMINOUS COAL FOR Q2' 14
 COALspot.com : Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd. has invited bids through International Open Bidding for 140,000 Metric Tons (MT) of sub-bituminous coal with calorific value 4,600 kcal/kg on NAR basis and 130,000 Metric Tons (MT) of sub-bituminous coal with calorific value 5,700 kcal/kg on NAR basis for its Boryeong plant.
According to invitation to bid terms, bidders are requested to offer quotation in a single fixed price up to feasible amount of coal in lots of 70,000×2 MT (+/-10%) indicating preferred laycan within April - June 2014 and in lots of 130,000×1 in June 2014.
According to KOMIPO's Invitation To Bid, the total moisture (TM) of coal should not more than 15% on as received basis & Ash content should not more than 17% on air dry basis for 5700 nar coal. In the meantime, KOMIPO is accepting total moisture up to 28%, Ash (Air dried basis) 17% for 4600 nar coal. The total sulphur of coal on air dry basis should not exceeds 1% and Ash Fusion Temperature (IDT) (Reducing Atmosphere) should not lesser than 1200.
Coal producers or marketing companies or traders those who shall meet the whole requirement of ITB including but not limited to, coal quality specification, shipping schedule, quality, are qualified to participate in this tender, ITB says.
The terms of tender is saying that, the Bidder’s bid proposal shall be bound as a firm offer and valid for a period of at least five (5) calendar days after the bid closing date. KOMIPO may request the bidder to extend the validity period of the bid proposal, if necessary.
The Bid documents to require submitting on or before 14:00 hrs on or before 11:00 am on Nov 21, 2013 (Korean Standard Time).
