KOSEP TO IMPORT 0.49 MILLION TONS OF 4600 NAR COAL FOR JAN - FEB '14
 COALspot.com - Korea South-East Power Co., a Korean generator and distributor of electricity on behalf of five Korean Gencos intends to procure 490,000 tons of coal on a fixed price basis. According to bid notice, ITB no.(Bid Notice no) K.Genco-Coal-2013-JT04, bidders are required to submit the bids on or before 10:00 A.M., October 22, 2013. (Korean standard time).
490,000 tons of coal required to deliver by 7 Panamax size vessels (70,000 +/- 10%) during January and February 2014. As per bid notice, the Calorific Value of coal should not lesser than 4,600 kcal/kg on net received basis, total moisture (arb) note more than 28%. Ash content on adb should not higher than 17% and total Sulphur (arb) restricted maximum to 1%.
Meantime, Fe2O3 in Ash should not more than 16%, Na2O maximum 2% and K2O maximum 3% based on ASTM standard.
The coal producers, marketing companies or traders a) those who have any coal supply record more than 140,000MT( two panamax shipments) to any of 5 Korean Gencos (KOSEP, KOMIPO, KOWEPO, KOSPO, KEWESPO) or Taiwan Power or J-Power or Steel Mill companies in Korea within last three years and b) those who do not have unfaithful coal supply records to any of 5 Korean Gencos and c) those who shall meet the whole requirements of ITB including but not limited to, coal quality specification, shipping schedule, etc. are qualified to participate in the ITB can be allowed to submit the bids to supply 460,000 MT of 4600 kcal/kg NAR coal.
Bidders are required to bid based on the discharging ports such as Samcheonpo (base port),Yeonghung Boryeong, Taean, Hadong and Dangjin. The Bidders are required to bid their offer valid for a period of at least fifteen calendar days after the bidding closing date.
