CEPL INDIA TO BAG 0.3 MILLION TONS OF COAL SUPPLY ORDER FROM TNPL
 COALspot.com - An India based coal trader Coastal Energy Private Limited has offered the lowest price of US$ 73.00 per metric ton for calorific value of 6000 GAD and 18 percent total moisture coal for TNPL against TNPL’s recent tender. TNPL is a traditional consumer of Indonesian coal, for its paper factory in Karur district, India. CEPL is part of the Dubai Based Coal & Oil Company which is the second largest coal importer in India and having offices across the India as well as in Singapore and Indonesia.
According to E-Tender conducted by TNPL yesterday , US$ 73.00 was the lowest among other bids from around Nine coal suppliers, our sources said. The person familiar to the latest tender of TNPL, said, the price different between lowest manual bid and E-bid is around US$ 1.25 per MT. E-Tender generates lowest price of US$ 73.00 MT instead of US$ 74.25 from manual bids.
If Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL), concluded this tender successfully then, TNPL is concluded a 6000 GAD coal at US$ 73/ MT CNF Karaikal, India. The total quantity of tender is for 300,000 MT and to be delivered by 5X 60,000 MT lots. The deliveries must start from the end of August 2013, by Panamax shipments.
TNPL over the period of several years got the exposure and experiencing the market pulse so well and pitching their next move intelligently to secure the best of the world.
One of the far east traders commented that, the way TNPL conducts the e-auction and manual bid whichever is low is really revealing and appreciable. This gives excitement and hope for the bidders at different stages. It looks like a business combined with excitement filled game.
According to the tender norms, the quality of coal should be Gross Calorific Value (adb) 6000 Kcal/Kg basis and will be rejected if GCV on adb is below 5600 kcal/kg. The Inherent Moisture (adb) of around 10 pct, Total Moisture (arb) 18 pct basis and above 25 pct will be rejected. The Ash content (adb) 8 pct max , Sulphur (ADB) 0.8 pct max, Volatile Matter (adb) 25 to 45 pct and above 45 pct will be rejected.
TNPL tender terms say, the winner will be selected based on the lowest bid either from e-tender or sealed manual tender price.
