TNPL IS LOOKING FOR 300 K MT OF 6000 GAD COAL FOR FIVE MONTH
 COALspot.com - Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers Ltd. , an Indian paper maker, is seeking 300,000 metric tons ± 5% (In 5 shipments about 60,000 MT each) of non-coking coal starting end August 2013 until mid January 2014 on delivered at TNPL factory siding at Pugalur basis.
The Tamil Nadu-based company has sought delivery of imported coal in five shipments of about 60,000 tons each at its Pugalur factory, according to the company’s tender document.
The company is seeking coal with a gross calorific value of 6000 Kcal/Kg on adb basis, total moisture is acceptable up to 25 percent and ash content of coal should not more than 8%. TNPL also restricted sulphur content of coal maximum to 0.8%. According to tender document, if the gross calorific value of coal below 5600 Kcal/Kg, then entire cargo will be rejected.
According to tender requirement, TNPL will adopt the following methodology to finalize the tender.
Price Bid will be obtained from the tenderer in a separate sealed cover along with technical cum commercial bid.
TNPL would fix the opening price and minimum bid decrement for the e-auction and the date and time of e-auction will be communicated to the qualified parties.
After closing of the e-auction TNPL will open the Price Bids in the presence of interested bidders. The date and time of opening of price bids will be informed to the qualified bidders.
The lowest offer received either through e-auction or through sealed price bid, whichever is lower, will only be considered for placement of order.
According to TNPL’s tender terms, the 300,000 MT of coal to be supplied within January 2014 starting from August 2013.
1st Shipment – ETA Karaikal, ECI arrival by end August 2013
2nd Shipment – ETA Karaikal ECI arrival by end September 2013
3rd Shipment – ETA Karaikal ECI arrival by 15th November 2013
4th Shipment – ETA Karaikal ECI arrival by 15th December 2013
5th Shipment – ETA Karaikal ECI arrival by 15th January 2014
The last date of submission of technical cum commercial bid and price bid is 24.07.2013 3.00 PM IST.
TNPL is the one of the largest Indonesian coal importer and consumer in India for last several years.
