A WEAK WEEK FOR SUB-BIT INDONESIA COAL SWAPS
COALspot.com - Sub-Bit Indonesia coal swaps (FOB ) for average Q2’ 2013 delivery has lost 2.11 percent and CFR South China coal shipment 1.95 W-O-W as of Friday, 15 March 2013, according to the data released by AsiaClear OTC coal swaps.
A commodity swap is a financial agreement whereby a floating, or spot; price is exchanged for a fixed rate over a specified contract period.
Indonesia Sub-Bit FOB Coal Swaps
Sub-Bit Indonesia coal swaps (FOB ) for average Q2’ 2013 delivery has lost 2.11 percent W-W and 0.07 percent on D-D on Friday, 15 March 2013, AsiaClear OTC coal swap's report said on Friday. Sub-Bit FOB Indonesia coal swaps for average Q2’ 2013 delivery was opened on 11 March 2013 at US$ 64.77 pmt and closed at US$ 63.40 per MT on 15 March 2013.
Q4’ 2013 deliveries for the sub-bit Indonesia's coal swap was opened at $ 66.30 pmt on 11 March 2013 and closed at $ 65.18 per MT on 15 March 2013. Average Q4’ delivery price has lost US$ 1.12 PMT W-o-W and flat D-o-D.
In the meantime, the sub-bit Indonesia's coal swaps for Cal 2014 delivery lost W-o-W and flat D-o-D.
AsiaClear OTC Sub-Bit Indonesia coal swap for average calendar 2014 delivery closed US$ 3.45 (5.44%) higher compared to average Q2 delivery price of US$ 63.40 on 15 March 2013. In the meantime, the Q4’ 2013 coal swap has closed US$ 1.78 (2.8 %) higher than Q2 ‘ 2013 swap on 15 March 2013.

CFR South China Coal Swaps
CFR South China coal shipment for average Q2’ 2013 delivery price lost 1.95 per cent W-O-W.
The average Q4’ 2013 delivery price has also lost W-W and D-D. The contract for the Q2’ 2013 price lost US$ 1.67 per MT W-o-W and closed at US$ 85.87 a ton on 15 March 2013. Q4 CFR South China coal shipment prices lost US$ 1.67 PMT W-W and gained US cents 62 per MT DoD.
CFR South China coal shipments (average Q2’ 2013 delivery) was opened at $ 85.92 per MT on 11 March 2013 and closed at $ 84.24 per MT on 15 March 2013 lost US$ 1.68 PMT in a week. The CFR South China coal swaps for Q4’ 2013 delivery also followed Q2 trend lost 1.9 percent W-o-W.
CFR South China coal swap for average Q4’ 2013 delivery closed US$ 1.63 (PMT) higher compared to average Q2’ 2013 delivery price. The calendar 2014 coal swap has closed US$ 4.88 (PMT) higher than average Q2 2013 swap.
The CFR South China coal swaps for Q2’ 13 delivery lost US$ 4.11 (4.65 %) M-O-M.
Indonesia HBA
Indonesian government has sets its March HBA at US$ 90.09 for 6322 GAR coal. March 2013 HBA, US$ 1.74 higher compared to February 2013 bench mark price.
The government of Indonesia is planning to increase the state’s non-tax revenues (PNBP) by raising the fee for a borrow-to-use permit (Ijin Pinjam Pakai) from Indonesian Rupiah 3 million (approximately US$ 309.85) to Indonesian Rupiah 4 million (approximately US$ 413.13) per hectare per annum. The fee increase will be varied depends on industry. However, the highest increase will be for mining activities.
Bloomberg News survey
The price for low-grade power-station coal in Indonesia, fell last week as Chinese stockpiles rose, according to a Bloomberg News survey. “ Indonesian coal with a calorific value of 4,000 Kcal/kg and 0.5 percent sulfur averaged $39.62 a metric ton in the week ended March 8, down from $42.93 a ton a week earlier, according to the median forecast of three traders in the survey,” as reported by Bloomberg.
Coal with a heating value of 4,500 Kcal/kg and maximum 1 percent sulfur rose to an average $54.32 a ton in the same week from $51.25 a week earlier, the survey showed. Indonesian high-grade bituminous coal with a calorific value of 5,800 kilocalories a kilogram and as much as 2 percent sulfur averaged $71.20 a ton, rising from $71.10 a ton the previous week, according to the responses, the recent Bloomberg survey reports says.
