THE SUPRAMAX FREIGHT RATES FROM INDONESIA TO INDIA ARE EXPECTED TO BE UP NEXT WEEK - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com - This week market sentiments ended positive with all the segments ending higher except for handy size which was almost at same levels a week ago.
The BDI was up by 11.28 pct closing at 1036 points. The cape index was up by 6.54 pct closing at 2347 points. The biggest gain was in the Panamax index which was up by 22.71 pct closing at 886 points. The Supramax index was up by 3.85 pct closing at 674 points and the Handsize was almost at same levels down by 2 points.
The Supramax freight market from Indonesia to India was firm and the freight rates are expected to be up next week.
The average charter rates was at Cape / US$ 16411 per day , Panamax / US$ 7011 per day , Supramax / US$ 7046 per day and Handysize / US$ 5992 per day. The futures for three years (2013-2015) was at around Cape / US$ 15000 per day, Panamax / US$ 9500 per day, Supramax / US$ 9500 per day , Handy size / US$ 8000 per day.
The supramax index in the far east (S8 ) route was up by 4.65 pct and closed at US$ 8165 per day (last week was at US$ 7802 per day). S7 route was also up by 7.89 pct closed at US$ 4610 per day (last week was at US$ 4273 per day) . Both routes likely to be firm next week.
The congestion in EC Australia was at 40 vessels this week (last week 39 vessels). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Haypoint / 4, DBCT / 11, Gladstone / 13, Abbot Point / Nil, New Castle / 5, Port Kembla / 3 vessels.
The Brent crude oil prices was almost at same levels at US$ 109.19 per barrel (last week US$ 109.42 per barrel). The bunker prices closed higher at US$ 611.00 compared to last week price of US$ 591.50 pmt for IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 16th Nov 2012.
