SINGAPORE BASED COAL SOURCE AND SHIPPING BAGS 300K MT IMPORTED COAL SUPPLY CONTRACT FROM TNPL
 COALspot.com - India-based paper manufacturer Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited has awarded a tender for 300,000 mt of imported steam coal to Singapore-based Coal Source and Shipping Pte Ltd at $77.60 CNF Tuticorin last week, according to a trader from India.
According to tender requirement, Coal Source and Shipping Pte Ltd will supply coal in six shipments of about 50,000 mt each from November 2012 to March 2013.
According to one of the participated trader, total nine company’s manual bids have been opened after closing of E-bidding. The trader further said, an Indian based CEPL has offered lowest prices (US$ 78.50) in manual bid followed by Kyori (US$ 79.50), Nahel (US$ 79.80), Gupta (US$ 85.91), Knowledge infrastructure (US$ 88.95), Coal Source and shipping (US$ 98.00), MSTC (US$ 99.50), Anik Industries (US$ 102.75) and Chettinad Logistics (US$ 108.00)
However, Singapore based, Coal Source and Shipping Pte Ltd ‘s E-bidding price was lowest among the other bidders and secured the business at US$ 77.60 / MT CNF Tuticorin to supply 6000 GAD calorific value coal with 15% total moisture coal, our sources said.
TNPL over the period of several years got the exposure and experiencing the market pulse so well and pitching their next move intelligently to secure the best of the world. TNPL tender terms say, the winner will be selected based on the lowest bid either from e-tender or sealed manual tender price.
The port of discharge will be Tuticorin which can accept up to Panamax shipments.
According to the tender norms, the quality of coal should be Gross Calorific Value (adb) 6000 Kcal/Kg basis and will be rejected if GCV on air dried basis is below 5600 kcal/kg. In the meantime, the Inherent Moisture (adb) of coal should be around 10 pct, Total Moisture (arb) 15 pct but acceptable up to 23 pct with penalty. The Ash content (adb) 8 pct max , Sulphur (ADB) 0.8 pct max and Volatile Matter (adb) 25 to 45 pct and above 45 pct will be rejected.
Adani Enterprises, TNPL’s existing supplier, who has won the tender to supply 300K mt of non coking coal at $81/mt CNF Tuticorin in May 2012, for shipment between June and November 2012.
