TNPL, AN INDIAN PAPER MAKER IS SEEKING FOR 300K MT OF IMPORTED NON-COKING COAL
 COALspot.com - Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers Ltd. , an Indian paper maker, is seeking 300,000 metric tons ± 5% (In 6 Shipments about 50,000 MT each) of non-coking coal starting 10th November 2012 until 1st March 2013 on delivered at TNPL factory siding at Pugalur basis.
The Tamil Nadu-based company has sought delivery of imported coal in six shipments of about 50,000 tons each at its Pugalur factory, according to the company’s tender document.
The company is seeking coal with a gross calorific value of 6000 Kcal/Kg on adb basis, total moisture is acceptable up to 23% and ash content of coal should not more than 8%. TNPL also restricted sulphur content of coal maximum to 0.8%. According to tender document, if the gross calorific value of coal below 5600 Kcal/Kg, then entire cargo will be rejected.
According to tender requirement, TNPL will adopt the following methodology to finalize the tender.
Price Bid will be obtained from the renderer in a separate sealed cover along with technical cum commercial bid.
TNPL would fix the opening price and minimum bid decrement for the e-auction and the date and time of e-auction will be communicated to the qualified parties.
After closing of the e-auction TNPL will open the Price Bids in the presence of interested bidders. The date and time of opening of price bids will be informed to the qualified bidders.
The lowest offer received either through e-auction or through sealed price bid, whichever is lower, will only be considered for placement of order.
TNPL also asking the supplier to supply cargo as per the following schedule:
1st Shipment – ETA Tuticorin By 10th November 2012
2nd Shipment – ETA Tuticorin By 31st November 2012
3rd Shipment – ETA Tuticorin By 20th December 2012
4th Shipment – ETA Tuticorin By 15th January 2013
5th Shipment – ETA Tuticorin By 10th February 2013
6th Shipment – ETA Tuticorin By 1st March 2013
The last date of submission of technical cum commercial bid and price bid is Sept. 20, 2012 3.00 PM IST.
