OVER 200 FOREIGN COMPANIES AND ENERGY MAJORS EXPECTED AT 2ND MOGP SUMMIT IN YANGON
Singapore based CMT and Machinery & Solutions Co. Ltd (M&S) announce that the 2nd MOGP Summit will be held on 3-6 September at the Sedona hotel Yangon. For the first time in Myanmar, global energy giants Exxonmobil, Chevron, ConocoPhillips , Shell, BP and many other international energy companies will meet at this timely summit, marking the historical transformation of Myanmar's oil, gas and power sectors.
His Excellency U Than Htay, Union Minister for Energy will give the official opening address, followed by keynote presentations by senior officials from Ministry of Energy, Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE), Ministry of Electric Power (1) and (2), Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC), and DICA.
The agenda focuses on opportunities and current project development in Myanmar's upstream oil/gas exploration & production (E&P) and power utilities sectors. Apart from presentations from the ministries, existing upstream operators in Myanmar (Twinza, Essar Oil, Parami and Total) will share operational experience and perspectives on growth potential in the E&P Operators' Panel Discussion. Local power companies and foreign experts will also elaborate on the importance of gas-based power generation, financing and taxation processes in power project ventures in Myanmar.
“2nd MOGP Summit is the official platform for foreign and local companies to interact and discuss opportunities in the emerging energy sector. Foreign companies are eagerly looking forward to meet local industry players and entrepreneurs to establish joint venture or partnerships” said Mr G. Seelan, Managing Director of CMT.
2nd MOGP Summit also features three timely workshops on joint ventures, project financing and geological outlook of Myanmar’s hydrocarbons. Attendees will have access to value-added interactive sessions led by geologists and professionals from P&A Asia, Ashurst, MPRL, PTTEP, MOGE and TOTAL who will be speaking separately at these workshops.
