SUB-BIT FOB INDONESIA COAL SWAP LOST $ 1.26 PER TON
 COALspot.com - Sub-Bit FOB Indonesia Coal decline for a second day yesterday, according to SGX AsiaClear OTC Coal Swaps. The prices for shipments to China also fell drastically compared to Monday opening.
The August contract for sub-bituminous coal for loading from Indonesia lost average US$ 0.23 to $62.27 a metric ton within a day transaction yesterday, according to the data received in an e-mail today. Swaps for the fourth quarter also fell average US$ 0.43 to $64.22 a ton yesterday. Indonesian sub-bituminous coal prices fell 1.98 percent between Monday opening and Tuesday closing and CFR South China coal for August delivery fell 2.93 percent for the same period.
CFR South China Coal in August slid average $ 2.52 to $83.48 a ton yesterday compared to Monday opening, according to SGX. The swap for the fourth quarter delivery also dropped US$ 1.47 to $85.88 a ton.
According to Indonesian coal players around 60 percent of Indonesia’s coal is classified as sub- bituminous grade with medium to higher moisture levels and a medium to lower heating value.
Indonesian government declared coal reference price also lost around 9.41 percent in July compared to June HBA. The government has set the July HBA at US$ 87.56 per mt with gross Calorific value at 6322 on GAR basis and Total Moisture at 8%.
The July 2012, declared HBA lost 25.95 percent YoY.
