BUKIT ASAMS 1Q OPERATING PROFIT MARGIN HAS INCREASED BY 6% TO RP. 1 TRILLION
 COALspot.com - PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), the Indonesia’s state owned coal miner's 1Q, 2012 revenue has increased by 31% to Rp. 3.02 trillion ( approximately US$ 328,976,034) compared to 1Q, 2011 revenue of 2.3 trillion (approximately US$ 250,544,662). According to company, the increased in revenue is due to higher selling price and higher sales volume.
According to company's press release, the weighted average selling price for the domestic market in 1Q, 2012, amounting to Rp. 742,872 (approximately US$ 80.92) per ton an increase of 0.4% compared to the same period last year. Meantime, the weighted average selling price for export market was jumped 8% to US$ 94.50 per ton compared to same period of last year. Weighted average selling price was at US$ 87.70 per ton in 1Q, 2011.
During 1Q, 2012, Bukit Asam has sold 3.9 million tons of coal or increase of 26%, compared to same period last year. The company's exports volume has increased by 75% and domestic sales increased by 4%. PTBA has exported 1.7 million tons of coal during 1Q of this year and sold 2.2 million tons of coal to domestic market during the same period.
Company's operating profit margin has increased by 6% to Rp. 1 trillion (approximately US$ 108,932,461), from Rp. 0.94 trillion (approximately US$ 102,396,514) in 1Q, 2011 and the net profit margin for the period of January - March 2012, rose 14% to Rp. 0.87 trillion (approximately US$ 94,771,241).
PTBA is expected to sell 18.6 million tons of coal in 2012, which is around 37% increase compared to 2011 sales volume of company.
