INDO-INDIA, LARGE ECO SUPRA CAN FETCH CLOSE TO USD 9K DOP N.CHINA - FEARNLEYS AS
 Handy
The Atlantic Handysize market did not see any signs for recovery this week. It is still a major lack of spot cargoes and an oversupply of prompt tonnage. The rate are still keeping somewhat flat but at very low levels as USG/Cont-Med is fixing around USD 8.5k and Cont back to USG is fetching in region of USD 1.5k. The Fhauls are being concluded in the mid/low 11k. Pacific market has seen good improvement with rates improving across all routes. For Indo-India, large eco Supra can fetch close to USD 9k dop N.China. Nickel ore cargoes are also more and nickel ore rounds fixed at USD 12k dely N.China. Nopac fixed around USD 11k dop Japan. Indian iron ore market remains quiet with less activity on WCI & ECI. WCI-China rates around USD 10k and ECI-China around USD 8k. RBCT rv fixed at APS USD 10k+BB USD 300k, however very few cargoes seen. Red Sea fertilisers to India are fixed around low 20s. Not much activity seen on short period and rates around USD 10k for large Supra.
Panamax
After an extremely quiet start to the week, it was a bit more activity into the week. We see more cgo out of ECSA and for prompt cgos the rates are keeping stable. However with the ballasters on its way in same direction, it is not looking like this level will keep up for a long while. The Atlantic is experiencing an oversupply of ships and rates are still hovering at low levels. Tarv´s are being fixed in region 4-5k, Fhauls at 13-14k levels. In the Pacific however it is looking a bit brighter for shorter rounds with coal with a deal being concluded at USD 9,500 for 2 llegs. The period market has regained some activity which could signal takers are there with the upstanding that the levels they see now are pretty much the rock bottom. 2 Kmaxes basis dely Zhoushan was fixed at USD 14,500 for 10 years each and USD 11,000-11, 500 are being done for LME´s for one year.
Capesize
An improvement in sentiment in the beginning of the week, but so far this has not really resulted in improved rates. West Australia remaining steady at just below USD 8 pmt whilst Tubarao/Qingdao is in the very low 20s pmt. There is a short period interest, but limited of actual fixtures. Market is still expected to pick up, but time being we still doesn´t see the signs.
