SUPRAMAX DELIVERY SOUTH CHINA FOR TRIPS VIA INDONESIA WERE REPORTED AROUND $ 6,000 PER DAY - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com - The markets continued to soften which dropped by almost 11 pct and BDI closing at 647 points.
The drop in BDI was mainly due to drop in Panamax and Supramax index which down by almost 15 pct. The Cape size index was holding and was down by 1.98 pct closing at 1,436 points. The Panamax index was down by 14.97 pct closing at 693 points and Supramax index was down by 12.52 pct closing at 608 points. The Handy size index also dropped sharply by 10.33 points closing at 382 points.
The index even though was down, however the physical market for Indonesia to India was slightly up including India to China. There appears to be increase in coal and iron ore movement after the Chinese new year holidays.
Supramax delivery South China for trips via Indonesia were reported around usd 6,000 pday. Short Period charter rates for Panamax delivery feast was around usd 9000 pday and for Supramax was around usd 8,000 pday.
The average charter rates was at Cape/usd 5,251 pday , Panamax/usd 5,509 pday, Supramax/usd 6,353 pday and Handysize/usd 5,682 pday.
The futures for three years (2012-2014) was at around Cape/usd 16,000 pday, Panamax/usd 11,500 pday, Supramax/usd 11,500 pday , Handysize/usd 8,750 pday.
The supramax index in the feast (S6 route) closed at usd 5,016 pday (last week usd 5231 pday) and S7 route closed at usd 5273 pday (last week usd 5569 pday) . S6 and S7 route likely to be firm next week.
The congestion in EC Australia increased to 98 vessels this week(last week 90). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Haypoint/2, DBCT/18, Gladstone/12, Abbot Point/2, New Castle/49, Port Kembla/14 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting was at 87 vessels (last week 70).
The brent crude oil prices closed at 113.76 per barrel(last week 111.53 per barrel) and bunkers prices closed at usd 720.50 pmt (last week usd 739.00
pmt)for IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 3rd Feb 2012.
