SUPRAMAX TRIPS VIA INDONESIA WERE REPORTED AROUND $ 7500 - 8000 PD
 COALspot.com - The BDI and Cape index recovered this week. The BDI was up by 3.26 pct and Cape index saw a big jump and closed at 3409 points (up by 11.81 pct). The Panamax and Supramax index was down by 5.18 pct and 3.26 pct respectively. The handy size index was also down by 2.31 pct.
"If the BDI and Cape index continue their gain next week, we expect that the other segments also would firm up", said Capt. Reddy, Director of Vistaar Shipping, Singapore.
Supramax delivery N. China for trips via Indonesia were reported around US$ 7,500-8,000 per day. Short Period charter rates for Panamax and Supramax was around US$ 12,500 per day.
The average charter rates was at Cape/US$ 29,359 per day , Panamax/US$ 13,586 per day , Supramax/US$ 13,958 per day and Handy size/US$ 8,860 per day.
The Supramax index in the feast (S6 route) was down by 7.27 pct and closed at US$ 7,570 per day (last week US$ 8164 per day). The EC India/China (S7 route) was also down by 2.91 pct and closed at US$ 7,007 per day (last week US$ 7,217 per day). The S6 and S7 route likely to remain steady next week.
The futures for three years (2011-2013) was at around Cape/US$ 16,500 per day, Panamax/US$ 12,500 per day, Supramax/US$ 12,500 per day , Handy size/US$ 10,250 per day.
The congestion in EC Australia increased to 122 vessels this week (last week 101 vessels). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/4, DBCT/16, Gladstone/19, Abbot Point/Nil, New Castle/68, Port Kembla/11 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting decreased to 25 vessels (last week 41 vessels).
The Brent crude oil prices was up by 3.24 pct and closed at US$ 110.10 per barrel (last week US$ 106.64 per barrel). Bunker prices was up and closed at US$ 681.50 pmt (last week US$ 667.50 pmt) for IFO 380 CST ex Singapore on 2nd Dec 2011.
