THE FREIGHT MARKETS EXPECTED TO BE STEADY NEXT WEEK - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com - The market were down probably with the sentiments of global financial markets and all segments were down.
The BDI was up down by 4.64 pct closing at 1,807 points and the BCI was down by 5.75 pct closing at 3,049 points. The Panamax index was down by 2.02 pct closing at 1,794 points whereas the Supramax index was just down by 0.07 pct closing at 1,380 points. The handy size index was down by 3.33 pct closing at 639 points.
The freight markets expected to be steady next week.
Supramax delivery N. China for trips via Indonesia were reported around US$ 8,000-8,500 per day. Short Period charter rates for Panamax and Supramax was around US$ 12,500 per day.
The average charter rates was at Cape/US$ 25,851 per day , Panamax/US$ 14,332 per day , Supramax/US$ 14,331 per day and Handy size/US$ 9,073 per day.
The Supramax index in the feast (S6 route) was up by 2.87 pct and closed at US$ 8,164 per day (last week US$ 8,405 per day). The EC India/China (S7 route) was up by 2.67 pct and closed at US$ 7,217 per day (last week US$ 7,415 per day). The S6 and S7 route likely to remain steady next week.
The futures for three years (2011-2013) was at around Cape/US$ 15,000 per day, Panamax/US$ 12,500 per day, Supramax/US$ 12,500 per day , Handy size/US$ 10,250 per day.
The congestion in EC Australia decreased to 101 vessels this week (last week 87 vessels). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/3, DBCT/18, Gladstone/16, Abbot Point/1, New Castle/51, Port Kembla/10 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting increased and was at 41 vessels (last week 23 vessels).
The Brent crude oil prices was down by 0.09 pct and closed at US$ 106.64 per barrel (last week US$ 107.61 per barrel). Bunker prices softened and closed at US$ 667.50 pmt (last week US$ 683.50 pmt) for IFO 380 CST ex Singapore on 25th Nov 2011.
