TAVESCO KILLARA ENERGY TO ACQUIRE COAL CONCESSIONS IN EAST KALIMANTAN
 COALspot.com - Killara Resources Limited, an Australian listed company has formed PT Tavesco Killara Energy (TKE), a joint company with PT Tavesco International which owned by Tanri Abeng, a former Indonesia’s state enterprises minister to acuire coal concession in Indonesia.
TKE is being set up to sourcing, exploring, and potentially developing coal projects in Indonesia, according to the statement released by Killara Resources Limited.
Tavesco as part of PT Tason Holdings (Tason) that owned by Tanri Abeng, has presented a number of coal concessions throughout East and South Kalimantan to Killara for review and assessment for potential inclusion within PT TKE.
To know more about Killara’s acquisition plan, COALspot.com interviewed the Chief Executive Officer of Tason Holdings Ridwan Zachrie who is also director of TKE.
COALspot.com: Has Tason found potential coal concessions to be acquired by TKE?
Ridwan Zachrie: Under temporary preliminary survey, the six locations are very potential and promising for a large-scale coal mine development.
COALspot.com: How much is the coal deposit content in those six concessions?
Ridwan Zachrie: The six concessions’ coal deposits content are, based on measured data survey, approximately 32 million metric ton.
COALspot.com: How is the quality of calories?
Ridwan Zachrie: The quality of coal may vary, but the gross caloric value is over 6000 kcal/kg on adb basis.
COALspot.com: what will be the mineable quantity out of the potential 32 million MT reserve?
Ridwan Zachrie: All reserves are almost mineable.
COALspot.com: In what districts are the potential coal concessions are located?
Ridwan Zachrie: Those mines were identify in several locations, but not limited to Kutai Kartanegara, Kutai Barat, and Kutai Timur in east Kalimantan.
COALspot.com: What would be the acquisition value of the six concessions that to be acquired by TKE?
Ridwan Zachrie: The acquisition value is not yet determined. The negotiations with the owners are still underway.
