COAL INDIA TO INVEST IN GOLDEN ENERGY MINES
 COALspot.com - Golden Energy Mines, part of PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk’s, is still negotiating with several strategic investors to off load 30 percent of Golden Energy’s shares. Dian Swastatika is a holder of 10 coal concession with total area of approximately 57 thousand hectares in Indonesia.
Dian Swastatika has several subsidiaries focusing on coal mining such as PT Borneo Indobara, PT Kuansing Inti Makmur, PT Manggala Alam Lestari, PT Nusantara Indah Lestari, PT Wahana Alam Lestari, PT Bara Kencana Sakti, PT Bara Harmonis Batang Asam, PT Kencana Cemerlang Persada, PT Tanjung Belit Bara Utama, PT Berkat Nusantara Permai, PT Nusa Indah Permai, and PT Bungp Bara Utama.
Golden Enery / Dian Swastatika is part of the Sinarmas Group owned by Eka Tjipta Widjaja, who was listed as the richest person in Indonesia in 2010 by Globe Media.
“The negotiation process with several investors is underway,” Hermawan Tarjono, corporate secretary of Dian Swastatika respond against COALspot.com's questions via email. According to market Information, Coal India, The world's largest coal producer is one the potential investor of Golden Energy. Coal India is seeking government approval to buy a 30% stake in an Indonesian coal company, its chairman, N.C. Jha, said last week. "In foreign investments, internal rate of return of 12 percent is not feasible. So we have sought to know whether this guideline for domestic investments still holds for foreign investment," Coal India Chairman N C Jha told reporters.
In last May, Reuters reported that Coal India was going into the further negotiations with Golden Energy Mines to be one of its shareholders, with an acquisition value of approximately equivalent to US$1 billion.
When asked about the interest of Coal India and other several investors, Hermawan Tarjono did not deny it.
According to him, potential investors have completed the due diligence on prospect concessions. “However, we cannot disclose either the number of investors or identity of investors who have conducted and completed due diligence as it may affect the negotiation".
"We set a target to complete it before September 2011,” he added.
PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA), a parent company of coal miner PT Golden Energy Mines that is controlled by Fuganto Widjaja, son of Indra Widjaja, reported a 613.03 percent surge in earning for the first half of this year, as quoted by Insider Stories..
Golden Energy Mines is developing its concession to become a leading coal miner in Indonesia.
