PTBA'S COAL PRICES UP IN H1 2011
 COALspot.com - Bukit Asam’s coal prices in the second half of 2011 will expected to be higher than the first half of this year, said Sukrisno, President Director of PT Tambang Coal Bukit Asam Tbk. In addition to higher prices, coal productions of PTBA will also be increased significantly in second half.
“We are targeting to produce 15 million tons of coal by the end of 2011. We have already sold 6.57 million tons of coal in first half of this year, which is 2 percent higher than the same period in 2010. The current coal market is good ," added Sukrisno.
According to the announcement of the Bukit Asam, the average selling price of Bukit Asam coal for the domestic market in the first half of 2011 was around to Rp 763,405/ton (US$ 89.9711 ), up 27 percent compared to the same period in 2011.
PTBA’s selling price for the first half of 2010 was only Rp 601,106/ton (US$ 70.8434).
However the first quarter of 2011, the average selling price was at Rp 751,457/ton (US$ 88.5630 ), up 35 percent compared to 1Q of 2010. The average selling price for the export market was also increased 61 percent to U.S. $ 98.45 / ton, he explained.
The production cost of PTBA has not changed significantly as the Oil prices are currently at stable or flat condition. In additions that, Bukit Asam is not entirely using oil for coal production and about 55 percent of the production or mining activities were done based on electricity power.
Bukit Asam, the state owned coal miner is seeing a good and promising future for its coal and company.
