UT'S SALES COULD REACH TO 8000 UNITS BY THE END OF 2011
 COALspot.com - Sales of Komatsu heavy equipment in the domestic market in the first half of 2011 rose 59 percent to 4333 units compared to the same period last year. Komatsu has sold as many as 2732 units for the same period in 2010. The mining sector became the largest contributor, which accounts for as many as 2949 units or 68 percent of the total sales of Komatsu.
"The increase in sales driven by national coal industry," said Ari Setiyawan, investor relations officer of United Tractors in Jakarta,
Ari added that, the surge in crude palm oil prices as well as coal prices in the world market, the coal producers have brought equipment to boost production. This trend is expected to continue until the end of this year, and price of CPO and coal still high compared to last year prices.
President Director of UT Pranoto Djoko said, Komatsu is still maintaining as the market leader of the equipment supplier in Indonesia. In fact, our market share has increased to 51 percent in the first quarter of 2011 from the 46 percent during the last quarter of 2010.
According to him, the national heavy equipment market has jumped 45 percent in the first quarter of 2011 to 8500 units.
"The demand for heavy equipments in mining, plantations, and construction sectors have increased sharply," said Djoko.
UT's sales could reach to 8000 units by the end of 2011. Meantime, the total heavy equipment market in Indonesia could reach to 16 thousand units. "We are targeting 50 percent of market share of Indonesian heavy equipment supplies," said Pranoto Djoko.
