FAR EAST /SE ASIA ROUTE GAINED US$ 3000 HIGHER THAN LAST WEEK - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com - The BDI further softened to by 2.22 pct and closed at 1323 points. The Cape and Panamax index also softened and closed at 1841 points (down by 4.01 pct) and 1535 points(down by 2.78 points) respectively. The Supramax index remained unchanged and the handy size index was up by 1 point.
The Supramax rates far east /se asia seemed to have firmed with ships reported fixed around US$ 16000-17000 per day delivery Singapore for trip via Indonesia to India, which is at least about US$ 3000 per day higher than last week. With the bunker prices also firm at around US$ 675 pmt is likely to have affect in the freight rates from Indonesia.
The iron ore prices continuing to be firm and seem to firm and the coal move also strong the freight market is likely to remain steady/firm in the coming weeks. The average charter rates was at Cape/US$ 11502 per day , Panamax/US$ 12603 per day , Supramax/US$ 13292 per day and Handy size/US$ 10280 per day.
The Supramax index in the feast (S6 route) was up by 2.01 pct and closed at US$ 9686 per day (last week US$ 9495 per day). The EC India/China (S7 route) also softened by 0.06 pct and closed at US$ 8838 per day (last week US$ 8844 per day). The S6 and S7 routes likely to be steady next week.
The futures for three years (2011-2013) was at around Cape/US$ 15000 per day, Panamax/US$ 13500 per day, Supramax/US$ 13500 per day , Handy size/US$ 10000 per day.
The congestion in EC Australia reduced to 61 vessels this week (last week 66 vessels). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/10, DBCT/19, Gladstone/8, Abbot Point/Nil, New Castle/30, Port Kembla/1 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting almost at same levels at 41 vessels (last week 23 vessels).
Waiting at Indian ports were normal about 2/3 days except for Vizag where waiting was around 7/8 days.
The Brent crude oil prices slightly down by 0.75 pct and closed at US$ 118.55 per barrel (last week US$ 117.66 per barrel). Bunker prices increased sharply by US$ 17 pmt and closed at US$ 676.00 pmt (last week US$ 659.00 pmt) for IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 22nd July 2011.
