SEEMS THE FREIGHT MARKET WOULD BE FAIRLY STABLE FOR H2 2010 - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com: The BDI continued moving up since 16th July and rise by 14 pct almost touching 2000 points.
The BDI was up by 7.72 pct last week whereas Cape and Panamax was almost up by 12 pct. The Supramax and Handy size moved up only marginally by 0.86 pct and 3.27 pct respectively. Overall the futures saw a strong recovery. However towards end of the week the futures seemed soft. The iron ore prices and steel prices seems to be picking and showing signs of recovery. Seems the market would be fairly stable/firm balance period for 2010.

The average charter hire was at Cape/$ 14965 per day, Panamax/$ 21155 per day, Supramax/$ 18401 per day and Handy size/$ 14828 per day.
The Supramax index in the Fareast (S6 route) was up only by $ 294 per day and closed at $ 18,171 per day. The ECI/China (S7) route also increased by $ 700 per day and closed at $ 16,927 per day . The S6 and S7 routes seemed to be slightly soft this week compared to previous week.
The futures for three years (2010-2012) was firm for cape and panamax vessels and was at around Cape/$ 26,000 per day, Panamax/$ 21,155 per day, Supramax/$ 18,000 per day, Handy size/$ 13,500 per day.
Short period and one year period rates for Supramax vessels was around $ 21-22,000 per day with delivery feast.
The congestion in EC Australian ports was at 126 vessels this week (last week 123 vessels ). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/7, DBCT/63, Gladstone/1, Abbot Point/1, New Castle/52 vessels, Port Kembla/2 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting reduced to 27 vessels (last week 33 vessels).
The waiting at majority of Indian ports for coal vessels was quite normal around 3/4 days excepts some ports up to 6/7 days.
The Brent crude prices was firm up at $ 78.24 per barrel (last week $ 77.57 per barrel). However the bunker prices was almost at same levels IFO ex. Singapore and was at $ 445.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore) on 30th July 2010.
