THE SUPRAMAX INDEX FOR S6 ROUTE WAS UP BY US$ 1091 PER DAY OR 5.7 PERCENT D-O-D -- VISTAAR
 COALspot.com: The market appears to be steadying with all indices almost stabilizing and the drop much less than last two weeks.
The BDI softened only by 7.16 pct this week and the Cape softened by 13.31 pct . The panamax index was up slightly by 2.81 pct where as the Supramax and Handy size was only down by 4.93 pct and 5.21 pct respectively. The Supramax seemed to be holding a bit firm in the Feast/Se Asia towards end of the week. The spot Supramax short period rates was maintained at US$ 22,500 per day in the feast.

The average charter hire was at Cape/US$ 24,283 per day, Panamax/US$ 24,472 per day, Supramax/US$ 22,192 per day and Handy size/US$ 17,228 per day.
The Supramax index in the Fareast (S6 route) was up by US$ 1,091 per day and closed at US$ 20,209 per day. The ECI/China (S7) route continued to softened and was up by US$ 665 per day and closed at US$ 20,223 per day . The iron market ex India was very soft with hardly any cargoes. The Supramax in Fareast/se asia seemed to be firming up.
The futures for three years (2010-2012) was at around Cape/US$ 28,000 per day, Panamax/US$ 20,000 per day, Supramax/US$ 17,500 per day, Handy size/US$ 14,000 per day.
The congestion in EC Australian ports was at 126 vessels this week (last week 112 vessels ). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/9, DBCT/49, Gladstone/6, Abbot Point/1, New Castle/55 vessels, Port Kembla/3. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting was down to 28 vessels (last week 23 vessels).
The waiting at Indian ports for coal was quite normal with about to 2/3 days in all ports.
The Brent crude prices was almost steady at US$ 78.40 per barrel (last week US$ 74.35 per barrel). The bunker prices was at US$ 438.50 pmt (IFO 380 CST ex Singapore) on 25th June 2010.
