THE SUPRAMAX INDEX IN THE FAR-EAST (S6 ROUTE) WAS DOWN BY $ 1300 PER DAY - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com: The market continued to soften in all sectors last week also with the BDI dropping by 18.07 pct and Cape index by 26.71 pct.
The BDI is almost at 2500 points and seems the market would continue to soften. The panamax index was down only by 11.34 pct where as the Supramax and Handy size was only down by 7.39 pct and 6.64 pct respectively. The Supramax and Handy size seemed to be holding a bit firm in the Feast/Se Asia towards end of the last week. The spot Supramax vessels for short period were being fixed at $ 22500 per day in the feast.

The average charter hire was at Cape/$ 29498 per day, Panamax/$ 23492 per day, Supramax/$ 23343 per day and Handy size/$ 18178 per day.
The Supramax index in the Fareast (S6 route) was down by $ 1300 per day and closed at $ 19118 per day. The ECI/China (S7) route continued to softened and was down by $ 1573 per day and closed at $ 19558 per day . Expect some correction this week and probably this sector could be steady or firming up this week.
The futures for three years (2010-2012) was at around Cape/$ 28000 per day, Panamax/$ 20000 per day, Supramax/$ 17500 per day, Handy size/$ 14000 per day.
The congestion in EC Australian ports was at 112 vessels this week (last week 113 vessels ). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/9, DBCT/47, Gladstone/6, Abbot Point/1, New Castle/49 vessels, Port Kembla/Nil. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting was down to 23 vessels (last week 27 vessels).
The waiting at Indian ports for coal vessels reduced and was down to 2/3 days in all ports.
The Brent crude prices was up at $ 78.35 per barrel (last week $ 74.72 per barrel). The bunker prices was at $ 447.50 pmt (ifo 380 cst ex Singapore) on 18th June 2010.
