INDONESIAN SUB-BITUMINOUS COAL SWAPS HEADING TO SOUTH DIRECTION


COALspot.com - Indonesian sub-bituminous coal swaps and CFR South China coal contracts for July deliveries have dropped this week by 5.43 percent and 4.22 percent respectively.

According to DSP of SGX AsiaClear OTC coal swaps, Indonesian sub-bituminous coal swaps for July 2012 deliveries closed at US$  67.50 / MT on 24 May 2012 (Friday), 8pm SG Time compared to Monday opening of US$ 71.38. In the meantime, CFR South China coal contracts closed at US$ 90.75 Friday instead of  94.75 Monday Opening.

The July 2012 swap contract for Indonesia sub-bituminous coal was opened Monday at US$  71.38/ MT and closed on Friday at US$  67.50 / MT declined US$ 3.88 (-5.43 percent W-o-W) , according to SGX AsiaClear OTC Coal Swaps.

CFR South China Coal contracts fell US$  4.00 (-4.22 percent W-o-W) to US$  90.75 per mt for the same period.

A commodity swap is a financial agreement whereby a floating, or spot, price is exchanged for a fixed rate over a specified contract period.


The Q4  swap contract for Indonesia sub-bituminous coal was also dropped US$ 3.22 / MT to US$  68.98  a metric ton on Friday  from US$  72.20 on Monday opening. CFR South China Coal contract declined US$ 3.78 (-3.93 percent) per mt to US$ 92.40 compared to Monday opening of US$  96.18, according to data released by SGX.

Indonesian sub-bituminous coal swap for July deliveries drops  11.64 percent M-o-M and the meantime CFR South China coal contracts for July deliveries dropped  11.46 percent M-o-M.

The Q4  swap contract for Indonesia sub-bituminous coal was also dropped  11.16 percent  M-o-M and CFR South China coal contracts dropped  10.72 percent  M-o-M.
